Adopt a Classroom
Montpelier is going to help out Houston classrooms! We are participating in the adopt a classroom program and will donate to a 5th grade class from Longfellow Elementary School! This teacher is in need of school supplies for her 28 students. We assigned each grade a specific school supply item. If you would like to help us out, we would appreciate it! This class would really appreciate it if everyone would pick up one or two items from their grade list and bring it to school by October 27!

  • Kindergarten - colored pens or markers
  • 1st grade - stickers, notebooks, or loose leaf paper
  • 2nd grade - pencils or highlighters
  • 3rd grade - index cards
  • 4th grade - glue sticks, notebooks, or loose leaf paper
  • 5th grade - folders (girl or boy themes or just colored folders)
  • 6th grade - binders
If you prefer to make a monetary donation, that opportunity is available as well. Any questions, please contact Miss Rogers.

Champions Month for the Blackford Promise
Any kindergartner that turns in their $25.00 towards their promise account will have their name put in a drawing for prizes. This Friday was our first drawing and our lucky winner was Elijah Lovelady! We will draw a name every Friday all month!

We Need Your Help!

Our school is participating in a collection of bottle caps and plastic lids, and we need your help! We want to collect 600 pounds of plastic lids, and if this sounds impossible, just take a look at every type of lid we can collect. With everyone's help, we can do this!

  • Medicine bottles (labels removed)
  • Hair spray lids
  • Drink bottle caps
  • Flip-top caps (ketchup, mustard)
  • Cottage cheese container lids
  • Peanut butter jar lids

  • Mayonnaise jar lids
The list goes on and on! Be sure to check out our September 29 newsletter for more that we can collect. You'll be amazed at how many caps you've been throwing away! Let's all do our part to help recycle what we can. Thank you for all of your help!
