Field Day 2019

We are in the process of planning our field day event. This year's field day will be on Friday, May 31. If you would like to donate water, sunscreen, or popsicles, please let us know. We appreciate your help. This is such a fun way to end our school year.

Kindergarten and Preschool Update

As stated at our kindergarten round up meeting, all students turning five by August 1 are eligible for kindergarten. Governor Eric Holcomb signed a change in law that will now allow students who turn five by September 1 to be considered for kindergarten this year. Also, we will consider any student that turns four by September 1 for preschool as well. If you have or know a child who will turn four or five years old during the month of August and would like to attend preschool or kindergarten this fall, please contact Montpelier Elementary School Principal Jim Fox at (765) 729.2402 to schedule an appointment for a kindergarten screening test. With excitement, we welcome these future Bruins to Blackford County Schools!

Sixth Grade Farewell

For parents of sixth graders that want to attend or donate snacks for the farewell party, please contact Tiffany Spaulding at (765) 728-2402. We appreciate your help.

Summer School

This year, summer school is available for students entering grades one through six (and IREAD retakes). There will be four weeks of engaging instruction in reading and math from great BCS teachers. This is an academic program chosen to produce results. Summer school will be at Northside Elementary School. We will have limited availability for bus transportation. To register, fill out a form (found in the April 26, 2019 newsletter) and return it Montpelier School, Northside School, or Southside School.

We have distributed the 2018–2019 yearbooks to those that had ordered them. We have a very limited amount of extras available on a first come first serve basis. The cost is $10. Don't miss out on this opportunity to preserve your school memories!

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is overflowing. If your child is missing an article of clothing or other items, please remind him/her to check the lost and found. Thank you!
